MEET Dr. Ratliff!
With a focus on equity and instructional leadership, Dr. Ratliff is the most sought after educational expert in America. With a passion and drive to empower teachers and educational leaders to build and sustain effective schools, she has dedicated her life to transforming the lives of student’s byway of receiving an exceptional education.
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Dr. Ratliff understands and recognizes the power of a quality education. Her life’s mission and goal is to equip educators and families with the tools necessary in order to ensure that children and students have access to a higher education. She believes that building the instructional capacity of teachers and strengthening the leadership of building principals is the primary lever in order to improve urban schools.
Dr. Ratliff has trained and studied best practices in classroom pedagogy and school reform in America and around the globe. Beginning her career as a teacher in Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Ratliff has served as a teacher, principal, as well as an instructional leader within Central Office. Her expertise and experience in urban education has allowed her to serve as the principal of a turnaround school where she was able to successfully lead, improve academic achievement, and provide positive outcomes for students.
Her vast experience in school improvement eventually led to her promotion where she now supervises and oversees 17 schools in a large urban district.
Dr. Ratliff is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she graduated with distinct honors. She is also a graduate of DePaul University’s and Purdue University’s Graduate School of Education where she received master’s degrees in both Elementary Education and School Leadership. Dr. Ratliff is also a proud graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received her doctorate degree in educational leadership.
When not traveling, you can catch Dr. Ratliff laughing and spending time with her family, eating caramel ice cream, and hugging her Havapoo puppy, Kyla.
